Training Tiers To ensure that modular levels are presented at an appropriate level scheduled leadership & management courses are divided into three tiers.
The matching of individuals to the relevant tier will be decided between the sponsor company, the attendee and the School, however as a general guide the tiers are designated as follows:
Tier 1
Managers and supervisors responsible for up to 5 personnel who have received little or no previous management training
Tier 2
Managers and General Managers responsible for between 5 and 50 personnel and/or have some financial authority, budgetary control and/or major decision making responsibility
Tier 3
General Managers, Executives and Directors of Companies exercising daily control of companies employing in excess of 50 people and who exercise strategic, fiscal and contractual responsibility for that company
The Tier system is a general guide to the content level of a particular course.
'S' Type
This is a sub-set of the three levels described above, the content of which is specialist in nature e.g. Health & Safety. ‘S’ Type courses are also annotated level 1, 2 or 3 as described above; e.g An Introduction to Health & Safety Management aimed at 1st Line Supervisors may be annotated as "Tier 1S"
